NAZC 2010 – ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAM

29TH DEC, 2010 – OPENING CEREMONY – 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Presenting for the 1st time – The ZAH Choir will perform the well known musical hits, followed by “The Silk Road”, choreographed by our very own Sunday School teacher, Vehishta Kaikobad.  The Silk Road will depict the journey of silk all the way from China to Persia, and the influence the Persians had on the silk trade.  Enjoy traditional local dances of different countries involved in this trade.

 

29th DEC, 2010 – GALA – “WORLD ZARATHUSHTI SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA" – 7:30 PM–8:30 PM

The World Zarathushti Symphony Orchestra (WZSO), founded by Farobag Homi Cooper and Cyrus Mehta, made its début at the 2000 World Congress in Houston. Now a FEZANA Committee, it features a unique mix of young and seasoned professionals, and is a regular highlight at Congresses. Ten years later, the WZSO will perform at the 15th NAZC, and we don’t think you want to miss their spectacular performance...

 

29th DEC, 2010 – GALA – “THOSE WERE THE DAYS” – 9:45 PM – 11:00 PM

Those were the days is a journey through music and dance mixed with a bit of humor to give you’ll an evening of delightful entertainment that is going to have you glued to your seats wanting more.  Our Local Houston talent promises to have you tapping you feet and singing with them as they recreate the past musical era made famous by Boney M, Abba, The Village People, a little bit of Broadway, and last but not least, it will also showcase old Bollywood style music and dance.

 

29th DEC, 2010 – GALA – “GENERATION I - LOCAL BAND” – 11:00 PM – 12:00 PM

Dance the opening night away to your favorite songs with our local band...the one and only all Zarathushti Band in the Western Hemisphere! Aspy Jamshedji, Eddie Behrana, Farrokh Firozgary, Jamshed Dubash, Rustom Challa, and Ziba Colah will play a good mix of old and new hits that will appeal to all ages.

 

30TH DEC, 2010 – PARSI GUJRATI NATAK – VARI BAANNA PAACHAL THI – 7 PM  – 8:30 PM

Nozer Buchia Productions presents a hilarious parsi gujrati natak Vari Baanna Paachal Thi that promises to have you in splits of laughter.

 

MUSICAL EVENING WITH ADI TAMBOLI – 9 PM – 12:00 PM

Enjoy nostalgic music that will take you’ll back several years.  We promise to get your feet tapping and dancing all night long.

 

31ST DEC, 2010 – CLOSING CEREMONY – 7 PM – 8:30 PM

As we wind down the congress and pass the torch to New York, we will showcase more of our local Houston talent.  Enjoy a unique musical experience by Houston’s up and coming youth Viraf Nariman and Darius Tamboli.  These two exceptional youth will entertain you’ll as they duel each other on the drums.

 

NEW YEARS EVE GALA – 8:30 PM – 2 AM

Blast off to 2011 with lots of fun, games, music and dancing.
